Much of the history of the Upper Ottawa Valley’s history is recorded in the art and products past people have produced that have stood the test of time. One such example of tangible history is wood carving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The woodcarvers of Renfrew County have earned national and international acclaim for works spanning a broad spectrum, from the finest wooden jewelry to the tallest totem pole in Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Valley Carvers – Past & Present, the School House Museum, in collaboration with the Renfrew County Museum Network and generous members of our community, has put together a collection chronicling the lives and artistry of Renfrew County’s finest artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
